Hanging Gardens of Babylon

This was located in Babylon Province or what is now known as Iraq. This monument stood for 600 years but was destroyed by earthquakes (600 BC-1 AD). Nebuchadnezzar II was credited for the ordering of creating The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. He ordered the Babylonians to build this wonder of the ancient world. This became to be known as "The Marvel of Mankind". Nebuchadnezzar II built this marvel for his wife who missed the green valleys and hills of her home town. Since this was destroyed by earthquakes no one has every seen this place so it was considered a myth even though recorded writing has been found.
